Hilltop Voices Choir

Choir concert

Formerly known as the Hilltop Villages Community Choir, we have now chosen the name Hilltop Voices.

We are a friendly community choir with an excellent choir leader, Judy Bullock. We have a wide repertoire, from traditional to more modern, and almost always a capella. We sing for the fun of it and vary the pieces we sing each week, constantly introducing new ones as well as reprising older ones. We are currently (Jan 2024) working on ‘Ave Maria’, ‘Only You’ and ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’. Other pieces include ‘Summertime’, ‘And So It Goes’, ‘Homeward Bound’, ‘Santianna’, ‘Wellerman’, ‘Sloop John B’, ‘Let the River Run’, ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’, ‘California Dreamin’, ‘The Sound of Silence’, ‘Scarborough Fair’, ‘Donna Nobis Pacem’, ‘Boyce’s Alleluia’, ‘Top Cat’ (great fun!), ‘Believe’, ‘Memory’ and ‘Always Look on the Bright Side of Life’ and many more. We also sing rounds and companion songs, as well as drinking songs and wassails. We sing mainly for ourselves, but have occasionally performed at local events and church services.

We meet weekly on Wednesday evenings from from 7:30 to 9:15 pm at Cholesbury Village Hall, HP23 6ND.

As with many choirs, during the early part of the Covid-19 pandemic we met online via Zoom. Not all choir members were able to, but those of us who could join in really enjoyed it. However, our numbers have been lower than before the start of the pandemic and we are now actively seeking new members.

If you’re interested in joining us, please contact us via email on info@hilltopvoices.co.uk

We operate a pay-on-the-door system and an evening’s session currently costs £5. Our members are drawn from the Hilltop Villages (Cholesbury, Hawridge, St Leonard’s and Buckland Common) as well as local towns Berkhamsted, Tring and Hemel Hempstead, but we are happy to receive members from any location.

Please see our website www.hilltopvoices.co.uk for the latest news.
